Stuttgart overview

One of the big German powerhouses, Stuttgart, known for its Mercedes and Porsche marques, is a rich city in both wealth and history. While it has the odd flash building of modernity, Stuttgart has managed to retain its low-level look of old where restored buildings of yesteryear adorn the city centre. The city lies in a lush valley and is surrounded by beauty, with the likes of the expansive Black Forest and vineyards a short drive away, and also has a load of parks and gardens within the city. The swathes of green have leant Stuttgart the honour of ‘Greenest German City’ and the Pedestrian Zone is unrivalled in the shopping department. Stuttgart has an airport and train services come in from all points.
