The capital of Bavaria and Germany’s most expensive city, for property developers at least, Munich also one of its most visited and enchanting centres. It is best known by ravers and drinkers for the annual Oktoberfest, where the entire place grinds to a halt so that thousand of beer lovers can indulge in getting sloshed. The gigantic and historic Hofbrauhaus beer hall also caters to the Bavarian passion for beer. Aside from getting inebriated, there is plenty to see and do in Munich. The old town (Altstadt) is loaded with museums and markets, grand castles inhabit the outskirts and you can also go skiing nearby in the winter.
