Fussen overview

Fussen is a captivating town in Bavaria known as the main gateway to Neuschwanstein Castle. The world famous fairytale castle is situated on top of a rocky hill and is just few kilometres from the town. If you happen to visit Disneyland, you will be amazed to know that Walt Disney copied Sleeping Beauty's castle from Neuschwanstein. Some visitors however leave Fussen immediately after seeing the castle without even exploring the beautiful little town. This is a great pity, as there are still several attractions to see here. Fussen is home to the Hohes Schloss and the Benedictine monastery of St. Mang. The town is such a small place that hiring a car is not really necessary when touring around. If you are lazy to walk, then renting a bike will surely answer your problem.
